Committee Nominations

Approaching the end of each season, our Members have the opportunity to nominate officers and approve the Committee moving forward. All Officers shall be elected at the AGM on Thursday 15 May.

As things stand, the committee is by-and-large prepared to continue status quo, other than a couple of role swaps. But critically, we do not currently have a nominee for the Treasurer role. If you are interested, please contact the Secretary – or any of the current committee – as soon as possible. A nomination will be accepted at the AGM, provided there has been no advance nomination for the same position.

RRA functions under the direction of a Committee consisting of:

• Chairman
  Chairs Committee and Open meetings, and provides RRA with direction and leadership.
• Vice Chairman
  Chairs Committee and Open meetings in the absence of the Chairman, and generally arranges the programme for, and the delivery of, Open Meetings and other authorised events.
• Secretary
  Handles official communications, maintains essential archives, advises the Committee and members on matters of importance and interest, and provides minutes of Committee and Open Meetings.
• Treasurer
  Oversees the Association’s financial affairs and ensures they comply with generally accepted accounting principles, make timely remittances of affiliation fees to the National and County RAs and advise the Committee and members of the financial status and membership numbers.
• Membership Officer
  Actively promotes membership of RRA, maintains membership records, attends events where there is potential for the recruitment of new members, and counsels and supports members on all queries and concerns, liaising with Welfare Officers where required.
• Officers without Portfolio
  Assist by undertaking some of the required supporting functions as well as others that may from time to time be determined by the Committee

We would like to place on record our thanks to Coral for her work as Treasurer this season, ahead of her standing down from the role. Coral will continue her support to our referee community as Welfare Officer at RRA. Also, thank you to Ethan for his work as Secretary, who will be standing down, but continue his work on the Committee as an Officer without Portfolio. Finally, a big thank you to Tony Smith for his long and dedicated service to the RRA Committee over the last 15+ years. Tony will be standing down from the Committee this year.
